| Llandrindod
wells is in the middle of Mid Wales and therefore could
not be better situated for touring Wales and the borders
(Marches). There are very few places within Wales which
you cannot reach within a couple of hours or so by car
from Llandrindod, from Llandudno, Caernarfon, and Snowdonia
in the north to Cardiff, Swansea and the Gower in the
south. Within an approximate two hour drive there are
the airports of Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and
Cardiff.
Because of our own central location
within Llandrindod Wells The Cottage is ideally situated
for guests on either business or pleasure. We are only
moments away from most places of interest and importance.
The lake, County Hall, Rock Park and Spa, MRC, Radnor
Indoor Bowls Centre, The Pavillion Conference Centre,
Holy Trinity Church and Temple Gardens are all within
a five or six minute walk from our front door. With
the increasing popularity of researching family history,
we are only five minutes by foot from Powys County Archive
Office.
The main events which take place in
the area are the Royal Welsh Show, the Welsh Two Day
Motorcycle Trials, the Llandrindod Wells Drama Festival,
international and national bowling tournaments and various
car rallies. Hay-on-Wye with its world renowned Literary
Festival is only thirty minutes drive away.
However no mention of our events in Llandrindod would
be complete without reference to the town's Victorian
Festival. Every August the town celebrates it's Victorian
heritage with entertainments, talks, street theatre
and costume. There is often in excess of two hundred
events packed into the ten days of the festival.
